CMF is involved in adult literacy, curriculum development, and producing books in the Maasai language. While the entire Bible has been available in the Maasai language since 1992, there is tremendous need for standardized curriculum on the local church level in the Maasai language, as well as development of courses for basic leadership training.

Adult literacy continues to be a much requested program by local Maasai, with many teachers trained by CMF ready to teach when resources are available.

In December 2008, a curriculum entitled "Enkinosata Ororei Le Nkai" (Eating the Word of God) was completed.  This is a book of ten lessons on how to understand the Bible, together with teachers' training material.  This project was a collaborative effort of CMF and the Community Christian Church, and the copies of the books are now in the hands of the church leaders.  Currently efforts are under way to train some of the Maasai writer-editors who helped the CMF missionaries with this project to become curriculum developers and lesson writers for the Community Christian Church.
